Historic district renovations in El Cid and Flamingo Park
Homes in El Cid and Flamingo Park's historic districts often come with architectural review requirements for exterior changes, but kitchen cabinetry is almost always an interior matter that doesn't require that level of sign-off. What does matter is scale: many of these homes have 8- to 9-foot ceilings and original window and door openings that limit where upper cabinets can go. We regularly design around a transom window above the sink or a doorway that can't move, using full-height pantry cabinets and corner storage to make up the difference in storage that a modern kitchen expects but a 1925 floor plan never offered.
